Big News!

The Hollingsworth Foundation has awarded Travelers Rest Historical Society a generous grant which will be used to begin refurbishing the interior of the museum building! Click here for more info. Thanks to Diane Drake for her excellent work in preparing and submitting the grant.

December Highlights

• PARADE: Thanks to Earline and Ben Cunningham for planning and supervising our entry in the Travelers Rest Christmas parade. Click here for photos. Our float was excellent; it told a story of the succession of people who have lived in our area.
• Y EXHIBIT: Thanks to Aileen Mullinax and Frances Reese, the Historical Society has a delightful exhibit in the front hall of the Travelers Rest Y. The exhibit contains old Christmas cards (some over 100 years old), antique stockings, an old tin nutcracker, old toys, pictures and other memorabilia from local families. This exhibit is open to the public and we invite you to visit this community resource.
