Upcoming Events At Slater Hall

Upcoming events at Slater Hall sponsored by the Slater Hall Citizens' Committee. We want to let you in the community know what is going on because we are trying to plan activities that are fun and affordable for the entire family. But we need your support to keep our activities going. The more people come, the more the Recreation District (who receives your taxes!) sees that there is a definite interest in restoring the building and keeping it open. Please participate as often as you can!

 

April 21--Gospel Music and Village Picnic (see ad in the print edition of The Travelers Rest Monitor)

 

 

April 28--Community clean-up day--8-11a.m. We need volunteers to pick up trash, mow side walks, blow leaves, and volunteers with pick-up trucks to help haul away trash bags. Call 836-2949 to volunteer or with questions. Meet at Slater Hall the morning of April 28 to get assignments.

 

 

May 5--Strawberry Festival sponsored by Foothills Family Resources

 

 

May 20--Community Backyard BBQ--sponsored with Marietta and Slater First Baptist Churches. Free for the whole family. Hotdogs and fun and games. 5-7 p.m.

 

 

June--Thursday evenings--Backyard Bible School sponsored by Marietta and Slater First Baptist Churches and other area churches. 6:30-8

 

 

June 15--Family Movie night--Bring your blankets and lawn chairs for a family movie on the big screen! 8:30 until... Free movie, concessions available for sale.

 

 

September 22--Slater-Marietta High School and Slater Mill reunions--Details coming later but put us on your calendar now!

 

 

November 3--Veterans Salute and Classic Car Cruise-In--Details coming later but get us on your calendar!
